How do I describe this book without giving away spoilers? The novel is set in a future void of…wait, no can’t say that. The main character, Dinitra 584-KxA, is attending school at the Collegium. A school where women graduate to become…wait, spoiler. Dinitra 584-KxA and her classmates are chosen to… no, that would give too much away.
Still, why would a Legion ship visit the Collegium just as Dinitra and her classmates were about to graduate and head off to their positions in the Weave? Arcadium girls were warriors, not Collegium girls. They were meant for…well, better jobs. Unless you were a failure.
Dinitra 584-KxA thought she was a failure. She never dreamed how her life would shape her future, as well as those of her classmates and the Weave.
The Bond is the first book in a fantastical trilogy which finds the main character, Dinitra 584-KxA, learning the truth behind everything she has ever been told. The Bond is about power, love, position, and belief. It centers around the idea of how much people can endure to save that which they love. It reaches into the character’s heart to explore a Mother’s love, and the bond between Mother and child.
What is this Bond? How important is this tenuous thread that holds one to another?
This was such an exciting read that I had a hard time putting it down. I found myself reading just one more chapter late into the night. I am sure that you will find this book to be a page turner, with plot twists to keep you guessing until the end of the novel. Just as you are ready to close your eyes, book two of the trilogy, The Hive Queen, calls to you. Send coffee, please!
