Book Roundup-May Holidays

The holidays in May are exciting, touching and fun. They range from Beltane, Mother’s Day, Memorial Day and everything in between. It’s a wonderful month to grab a book that represents a holiday, sit back and relax.
Books such as Le Morte d’ Arthur, celebrate Beltane and the birth of King Arthur’s son, Mordred. The Mists of Avalon covers Mordred’s birth. Beltane: Rituals, Recipes and Lore for May Day help make the May day special. Don’t forget to dance around the Maypole, or leave flower baskets on doorsteps. The faries, in Emily Wildes’ Encyclopeadia Faeries, will thank you.
Mother’s Day is also a lovely time to either settle back in a comfy chair, while the little ones play, or gift a book to Mom. Books such as: Finding The Mother Tree: Discovering the Wisdom of the Forest, The School for Good Mothers and Dog Mom: A Love Story make good selections.
Then there is Memorial Day to remember those who have fallen in War. Memorial Day, My Century: a memoir of war, peace, and pioneering in the operating room. Ice Men, a Novel of the Korean War. My Father served in both WWII, and the Korean War as a Dentist/Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon and Chief of Staff at his MASH unit. He never spoke of the war.
