Compost
Return me to the Earth
When my Body can give No More,
When my Fingers are numb to Worldly Thorns
And Sweet Roses lost their Tempting Scent,
Return me to the Earth
Bury me in a Shallow Grave
Where I can Feel Above as Below,
Where Sun Rays and Rains may Embrace me still
And Worms and Maggots carve Nurseries into my Flesh,
Bury me in a Shallow Grave
Make me into a Fertile Bed
So my detaching Ribs become Terraces for Gardens
So from my Heartbeat an Oasis Blooms
And the Nectar, my Blood, may feed the visiting Bees,
Make me into a Fertile Bed
Return me to the Earth
When I’m ready to Wither,
Let my Corpse be a Seed
And birth New Life when mine has Ended,
Return me to the Earth
