overcast day

Image created onCanva

Maybe tomorrow,
another day, but it’s not me.
Another tomorrow, maybe,
but it’s not me.
Here we are,
it’s already the next day
And we have gone.

Dawn is here.
We have gone.
You have turned your back –
I can’t see you anymore,
not from the front,
not from the back.
I say “So long!”
But you can’t hear me.
I wave my hand
but you don’t see it.
We’re almost there
and it’s already too late.

Too late to tell
too late to lie;
too late to arrive,
too late to hope.
Too late to know,
too late to cry.
Too late to leave,
too late to lie here.
Goodbye.

Maybe you move away
and as you go, your body
becomes smaller and smaller.
At the end of the street,
there’s only a dot.
It turns to the right.
It disappears.
That’s it.
Goodbye.

And maybe there’s nothing more to say.

I stay alone with my thoughts;
I stay alone with my life.
Maybe I should have said something
but what? I don’t know.
Afterward it’s easier to see
but in the spot we don’t know –
I don’t know you –

He doesn’t know what to say.

That it’s time to separate; farewell.
Don’t say anything.
It’s useless,
it’s too late.
you’ve gone;
you’ve disappeared at the end of the street.

Turned to the right
only a small point now
As you move away
you gradually become smaller.
The same is true
when he disappears little by little within time.
