With so many books out there, it can be hard to choose what to read next. Luckily, many book lovers share their thoughts and recommendations on YouTube under the hashtag called BookTube, making it easier to find your next great read.
If you’re looking to dive into BookTube, these three YouTubers offer a great starting point before branching out to discover even more creators.
Booksandlala
Booksandlala is both a BookTok and BookTube content creator who goes by the name Kayla or Lala.
Since launching her YouTube channel in 2014, she has gained over 159K subscribers and uploaded more than 770 videos. She posts twice a week, sharing a variety of book-related content including reading vlogs, challenges, readathons, book club picks, and book recommendations.
She also lets the viewers know what kind of books she tends to read, helping viewers find content that suits their interests. Her favorite genres include mystery, thriller, horror, contemporary, fantasy, and sci-fi. She also links her website, Instagram, Goodreads, and TikTok for fans who want to stay connected across platforms.
PeruseProject
Regan, known on BookTube as PeruseProject, has been a beloved figure in the bookish community since 2013.
She began her channel with book hauls and steadily built a loyal following, now boasting over 386,000 subscribers and more than 1,500 videos. Her content includes book hauls, reviews, reading challenges, book recommendations, and more, making her channel a go-to destination for fellow book lovers.
In her video descriptions, Regan shares links to her Goodreads, Instagram, and Disney Dreamlight Valley account. On Goodreads, she has read over 1,000 books and ranks as the 40th most-followed user. Her favorite reads reflect a love for both modern and classic literature, including The Great Gatsby, Gone Girl, The Throne of Shadows series, and many others.
Jack Edwards
Jack Edwards is known for posting videos about university life, books, and various pop culture topics.
He began his YouTube career in 2016, initially sharing content about his time at school before gradually shifting his focus to books. Over time, he made a name for himself on both YouTube and TikTok. He’s also active on other platforms like Instagram and Twitter. His main YouTube channel currently has 1.51 million subscribers and 410 videos.
Jack also runs a second channel, Jack in the Books, which focuses exclusively on book-related content such as hauls, challenges, and more. That channel has 525K subscribers and 298 videos. In 2020, Jack published a book titled The Uni-Verse: The Ultimate Guide to Surviving University.
