Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci
I saw her once
in a crowded room
People pushing in the long hall
and she was small
her famous smile slight
her eyes staring out at all of us
they met all of us
at once
no matter where I was
in the room
Her eyes followed me
I snapped a photo of her
and moved on
bothered by the heat of the crowd
and the way her eyes lingered
