Easter is…
Image created on Canva
When I was a child
Easter was…
Fishcakes on Friday,
church on Sunday,
one chocolate egg,
and an early night.
When I was a teen
Easter was…
Pack the car on Friday,
head off till Sunday,
campfires and sleeping bags,
hangovers and sunburn.
When I became a mother
Easter was…
Hot cross buns on Friday,
hiding eggs on Sunday,
sugar-fuelled chaos
and tinfoil aftermath.
Now I’m a grandmother
Easter is…
Family visit on Friday,
then three blissful days
of lazy lie-ins
and reading in the garden.
