Fall
Image created on Canva
Maple leaves are falling
yellow, orange, red, brown
leaving their seasonal home
of branches big and small,
leaving the mother tree
to zigzag their way to the ground.
Leaves weave multicolor carpets
beneath the maple,
wrapping the ground lovingly,
waiting to decay and blend with the soil,
waiting to go back to the roots
from where they came.
