Beloved Grandparents

Grandparents are devoted people
with the wisdom of owls
and the pride of lions surveying their realms.
Mimis and pawpaws offer love and kindness
With hugs like a warm blanket on a cold winter’s night.
They’re always there to guide.
With claps louder than thunder — and anyone else –
abuelas and abuelos build your confidence and strength,
their arms thrown open wide for you
no matter what goes wrong.
Gramps and Grams love all their grandkids equally
and help out in every way they can,
remembering your birthday, giving you your heart’s desire,
caring for you when your parents are away.
Grandmas lean in with a listening ear,
Grandpas lend a helping hand filled with butterscotch mints.
They show you respect and always try to understand.
Popis and nans give their love and devotion
along with so much more, you see.
Beloved grandparents offer shining examples of who we ought to be:
teaching us to splurge with compassion,
supporting others in their dearest pursuits,
and filling our lives with unconditional love and hope.
As you celebrate being a grandparent — or loving your grandparents – delight in these fantastic readings from around the globe.
🍵 We run on pure passion here at the Roost and every bit of help goes a long way! If you’d like to support our on-going efforts to keep our publication free for everyone, consider fueling us with a digital tea.
