Magical Snow

Magical Snow. Written by Mary Derringer. Performed and Edited by Rita Mock-Pike, for the MockingOwl Roost.
Will it snow on Christmas Eve?
I think somehow it might,
but only if we’re all asleep,
and Santa’s in flight.
The reindeer need that snow
to muffle out their sound.
Otherwise, we’d hear them as
they pull the sleigh around.
Of course, it’s enchanted snow
that falls just on this gala night,
While Santa hops upon the roof,
then it melts before the break of daylight.
So now, it’s time to go to sleep.
The sleigh is in the skies,
but Santa’s journey can’t begin
until we close our eyes.
Then once we’re all tucked in,
asleep and cozy, we’ll let the magic in
and the gift of Christmas
and giving can begin.
