November Pine
Image created on Canva
Brown leaves shrink to a crisp
on top of fading grass,
giving way to the underbelly of a pine.
With its majesty, it could escape the harshest winter,
wait for the first purple crocus of spring,
but instead will yield to embellish the wreaths of Christmas.
