I Am a Runner with Hope
Sparkling light streaks the page
As I try to bring my mind to focus.
The music from another room
and giggles from outdoors
distract.
But there’s hope.
There’s anticipation.
There’s dreaming afoot.
I will find a way.
The momentary lapse of focus
smacks me across the face
when the cat’s tail precedes the anticipation
with fluffy assurance
of more.
Yes, there’s hope.
There’s anticipation.
There’s planning ahead.
This leads the way.
I will do it.
I will find the energy.
I will find the promise
and push through the vanity of life
and the misery of monotony.
I am a dreamer.
A visionary.
A runner with hope.
I will do it.
I will find the energy.
I will find the expectation
and the promise to push through this void.
Yes, I am strong and I will do it with His strength.
