A Delicious Twist: Rita’s Review of the Ahmad Lemon-Lime Twist Black Tea
Thus far, each Ahmad tea variety that I’ve tried, I have loved. September’s tea is no exception. The Lemon & Lime Twist is delicious! For any citrus lover who drinks black tea, this is definitely a must-try. The fact that it’s affordable is pretty nice, too.
History of the Tea Company
So, the Ahmad Lemon & Lime Twist tea doesn’t have a significant story that I can find, so I thought the company’s history might be interesting, especially for any fans of the brand like myself.
The company was originally founded in London in 1986 by the Afshar brothers, naming the tea for their father. The brand now distributes tea in over 80 countries, which is rather impressive, especially for a brand that not as many folks have heard of (think Twinings or Lipton). They’re often found in hotels, specialty shops, restaurants, and even a few chain stores.
The headquarters for the company houses a tea museum – which let me tell you, I’m looking forward to seeing when I head to London next!
The real winner for me with this brand, though, even beyond the amazing taste, is that they’re an Ethical Tea Partnership member, meaning they purposefully work sustainably and ethically as a tea company, meaning no slave labor or destruction of land is involved in their production.
Flavor Profile for Ahmad Lemon & Lime Twist Tea
The Ahmad Lemon & Lime Twist is exactly what it sounds like: rich, black tea with natural lime and lemon flavorings twisted into the tea blend for a tangy, citrusy blend. Honestly, there’s not much else to say about it. If you love black tea and citrus, chances are, you’ll love this tea. I certainly do!
This is, yet again, a hands-down winner for me and now a regular part of my collection. It’s right up there with Lady Grey from Twinings and Strawberry Sensation, another Ahmad Tea flavor.
