Taylors of Harrogate Blackberry & Raspberry Tea Review
Just as I am picky about my produce, I am picky about my fruit tea. So, I’m always hesitant to try new ones, particularly if they bear any crossover with my existing favorite fruit teas (in this case, Raspberry Indulgence from Ahmad Tea). But my mother loves blackberries and raspberries, as well, so, I thought I’d give Taylors of Harrogate Blackberry & Raspberry Tea a go.
Aroma Profile of Taylors of Harrogate Blackberry & Raspberry Tea
Each time I sniff this tea, my tastebuds literally start to salivate. The dark, richness of the black tea blends beautifully with the sweet, tart, tangy fruit for a powerful, titillating aroma. As I breathe in the aroma, I can’t resist then drinking the tea after a long draught of the aroma, which is exactly what the scent of anything edible should do.
Flavor Profile of Taylors of Harrogate Blackberry & Raspberry Tea
Right away, the raspberry tickles the tastebuds, yet not as sharply as it does in other raspberry teas. The reason? The blackberry, a more subtle flavor, softens and smooths out the raspberry, removing the potential “bite” of the tart fruit.
The combination makes for the perfect fruit tea for enjoying without sugar or milk – a smooth, naturally sweet, caffeinated black, berry tea.
Preparation and Service Suggestions
I tried the tea served and prepared several different ways, beginning with, of course, a hot cuppa for my morning ritual. Ultimately, this tea is best served as a hot tea with a fairly long steeping period (recommended 4-5 minutes; preferred 6-7 minutes). No sugar or milk are necessary. Enjoy as-is.
It makes a decent iced tea, particularly with a tiny bit of sugar and a squeeze of lemon.
The second-best preparation, though, is sun tea. Simply add the tea bag(s) to a clear jar or pitcher, fill with room temperature water, and set out in the sun for 4-6 hours. The natural warm brewing produces a touch of beautiful, delicate flavor that hot brew and cold brew don’t. I also suggest drinking this straight, without adding sugar, milk, or lemon.
Overall Impressions of Taylors of Harrogate Blackberry & Raspberry Tea
This beautiful cuppa earns 5 out of 5 stars from me. The simple, sweet-tart, black tea flavor and rich aroma offer all I could want for a good cup of delightful tea in the morning, afternoon, or evening.
