A Haiku Chain
He used the shamrock
to tell the Irish of the
Holy Trinity.
So we honor the
saint who taught the Good News of
Christianity.
Sadly the party
for the Saint of Ireland flows
with seas of green beer;
Wearing emerald,
people search for leprechauns
and four-leaf clovers.
He attained sainthood
on the lush isle where he was
once in slavery.
He had a shamrock
and a calling to save the
lost of a nation.
So, forget green beer,
skip the emerald t-shirts;
celebrate the love.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Reflect, enjoy, delight in the holy day that honors a man who “drove out the snakes” from the Emerald Isle. And join us as we welcome the spring!
