The Raven

Image created onCanva
A raven’s croak
interrupts my thoughts
on my morning walk
I look up at the bird
its coat of the blackest feathers
sheening in whitish sunlight
If only I could get
one sound from this world
not to say an agreement
So I hold dear
the dark bird’s song
a redemption
of an ill-spent hour
on the empty grass
