I do not know you
don’t know the smile
the beating red heart
behind the boutonniere
on your blue lapel

For all these years
I’ve put myself out there
shooed away the clouds
so I could shine
without obstruction

You must have done the same
twinkling in some faraway galaxy
obscure only to me
whom you’ve hidden from
for all the sensible reasons
