I Wish…

Image created onCanva
I don’t wish our nights starry always.
I don’t wish we could fly high in the sky.
I don’t wish for abundant gold;
it is of no more value than stones.
I don’t wish for ease all the way.
I believe hurdles come and thereby, we grow.
I don’t wish the sea to always be calm,
but I wish fair winds behind our sails.
I wish for a motherly society;
a society screened by love,
where morals and ethics are true,
and love is what we spend.
I wish we were perpetually happy.
I wish there would always be love to share.
I wish there was a better way to say this.
I wish. I wish. I wish…
When we are sad, when we cry,
when we slumber, when we fall;
Is there something to make us smile again?
I wish there was enough love to go around.
