Be Still
Be still, oh my soul, be still.
Why are you so disquieted?
Do you not know that the restorer seeks
to heal your land, your scarred heart, your war-torn mind?
He approaches tenderly with the balm of Gilead.
Yield, oh my soul, yield,
face your fears not in your strength, but His.
Do you not know that the Creator of all seeks
to mend your broken places, your grieved spirit, your weary bones?
He approaches gently with the breath of life.
Submit, oh my soul, submit,
cry your tears – he counts them all.
Do you not know that the Peacemaker seeks
to calm your storms, your clouded sight, your ceaseless pain?
He approaches patiently with peace that passes understanding.
Receive, oh my soul, receive,
there is
grace in his eyes,
life in his word,
peace in his forgiveness.
Trust, oh my soul, trust,
he is faithful to
mend your wounds,
heal your heart,
revive your soul.
Live, oh my soul, live!
He is the tear-keeper,
the prison breaker.
Arise, my soul, arise,
like a Phoenix
out of the ashes!
To life
Redeemed.
