                      Pheonix

                      Painting by Cynthia Ann Lublink

Be still, oh my soul, be still.
                      Why are you so disquieted?
Do you not know that the restorer seeks
to heal your land, your scarred heart, your war-torn mind?
He approaches tenderly with the balm of Gilead.

                      Yield, oh my soul, yield,
face your fears not in your strength, but His.
Do you not know that the Creator of all seeks
to mend your broken places, your grieved spirit, your weary bones?
He approaches gently with the breath of life.

                      Submit, oh my soul, submit,
cry your tears – he counts them all.
Do you not know that the Peacemaker seeks
to calm your storms, your clouded sight, your ceaseless pain?
He approaches patiently with peace that passes understanding.

                      Receive, oh my soul, receive,
                      there is
                      grace in his eyes,
                      life in his word,
                      peace in his forgiveness.

                      Trust, oh my soul, trust,
                      he is faithful to
                      mend your wounds,
                      heal your heart,
                      revive your soul.

                      Live, oh my soul, live!
                      He is the tear-keeper,
                      the prison breaker.

                      Arise, my soul, arise,
                      like a Phoenix
                      out of the ashes!

                      To life
                      Redeemed.

Cyndi (she/her) is the mama of two grown children and Oma to eight grandchildren, all of whom she adores. She’s a biker chick with a lady’s heart and thirty-nine tattoos that tell some of her life story. Not just a cancer survivor, she’s a life thriver. She also loves painting, and finds the process similar to solving math equations. She has been a writer/poet since the age of nine, her first poem being about God’s Hands. She wrote for Christian Biker Magazine for five years.

A square image presented as a nine-panel collage with a patriotic and solemn mood, focused on themes of military service, loss, and memory. The collage features six distinct photographs and three panels of text overlaid on color gradients. The panels include: two elderly women viewing a folded American flag; a pair of old, muddy military boots with dog tags in the grass; a close-up of burning candles and a dog tag reading "IN LOVING MEMORY"; a black and white photograph of a soldier sitting and crying; a woman holding red carnations; and a vintage image of an American flag with a helmet and work gloves. The overall aesthetic is serious, honoring the sacrifice and emotional cost of military service. Veterans' Text: FORGOTTEN VETERANS, Paula Frew Poetry

A square image with a warm, vintage, and rustic vibe, suggesting an old-world setting. The scene is an interior of a kitchen focused on a central, antique stove or hearth built into a low, white structure. Bright sunlight streams through a large window with wooden shutters, creating a strong backlight and a hazy, nostalgic atmosphere. Copper pots, utensils, and a vase of yellow flowers decorate the space. The overall color palette is dominated by warm brown, gold, and sepia tones. A small cream-colored owl logo is in the bottom right corner. smile Text: Poetry, Phyllis Hemann, HOPE
