Unintentionally, the MockingOwl Roost family chose this topic, Unknown & Unseen, for our first triannual issue in 2023 for a time in which the family would really be exploring the topics of mental wellness, health, emotional support, true community, and what it truly means to see, hear, and know one another.

As we explore the topic together, we’ve been delighted and intrigued by the many flavors, colors, aromas, ideas, visions of the contributor family in their own exploration of what it is to be Unknown & Unseen. We are delighted to share this unique collection of short stories, poems, art pieces, essays, and more with you in this first Triannual issue of the MockingOwl Roost.

Linger in the pages and enjoy the beauty, the brilliance, even the pain contained within these pages, and rejoice in being someone who does know and see others, even though experiencing their creative works herein.
