Some Things I Still Can’t Tell You is an emotional book of poetry by Misha Collins, who is best known for his role of the Angel, Castiel, in Supernatural. His book has taken the world by storm.

It was released on October 12th and rose to number four on the New York Times Bestseller list as of 10/23/2021. And it shows no signs of stopping there, as shops sell out of this book as quickly as they get them. Pre-orders crashed several sites as fans and poetry aficionados hurried to get a signed copy.

Misha teased his readers by giving them live readings from the book on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

But the question is, does this book live up to all that pre-order hype?

In one word… absolutely! These poems were written from the core of Misha’s being. Raw and beautiful, often moving the reader to the point of tears. I couldn’t put it down. Misha bared his soul and allowed us to really see him. I have said before that “poetry is truth.” This book illustrates that beautifully.

Since the first reading, I have re-read the book at least once and re-read select poems out loud several times. The flow of the sounds are both soothing and haunting.

Since poetry is my genre, I am so excited that a book of poetry has become a bestseller less than a week after it was released. Although I thought poetry was cool, that has not always been the general consensus. Mischa Collins has just kicked poetry’s coolness factor into high gear.

Granted, there are Misha Collins/Supernatural fans who will purchase this book due to the show. However, its reach has moved far outside the fandom.

I would love to attend a reading of this book or listen to an audio of the book read by Misha and friends. To hear them read his truth aloud would be profoundly moving.

Please consider this in the future, Misha.

To couple the book with an audio version would open access to Some things I still can’t tell you to audiophiles, and the visually impaired.
