Romance Novel Review: A Brush with Love

A Brush With Love is one of those romance novels that restores my faith in the genre. Not only is the craft of writing well-executed on these charming pages, but the author digs deeply into a lot of challenging emotional moments and deals very beautifully with a main character who deals regularly with anxiety – deep anxiety.

It hadn’t been one of her better decisions. In fact, when she looked back over her life, contemplating all of the decision-making she had done thus far in her twenty-nine years, this one teetered on insanity. Or, perhaps that was doing it a disservice. Completely irrational, utterly insane, and most likely going to leave her with scars seemed to suit it better.

Saturday Morning Cartoons and Breakfast in Bed

Remember when you were a kid and you'd wake up early just to get in those cartoons on Saturday mornings? You'd grab a bowl of Cap'n Crunch or Cookie Crisp and nosh mindlessly as you sang the theme to Animaniacs or cheer on the Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers. Maybe you'd watch reruns of The A-Team or tune into wrestling – whatever your indulgence was (not that you understood it as such back then).
